Nikos Bible School

Thank you for your interest in Nikos Bible School. Burdened by the Lord to edify believers for the fulfillment of their earthly purpose, I took upon myself the imense but enjoyable task of establishing Nikos Bible School (NBS). As it is a newly established Bible school initial study will be focused on a Distance Learning Programme (DLP), which makes it possible for students from all over the globe to enroll. NBS is  based in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, from where all tutorial matter will be despatched.

Our Purpose

NBS was established to prepare God's people for service in the calling that God has laid on them. NBS adheres to Pentecostal beliefs and interpretation of the Scriptures and lessons will focus on assisting believers in their pursuit of gaining spiritual maturity and fruition that result from more knowledge and a better understanding of God's Word. NBS resolves to provide students with the necessary insight to obtain this knowledge and understanding by communicating and teaching the revelation God has provided in his written Word. The world we live in is a place wherein we must be anchored to a Biblical world view every day while also holding on to the promises of God for our future.

The Course

The DLP has a set order in which subjects are to be studied. This is necessary for a step by step understanding of God’s Word and his plan for us. The order in which subjects will be studies are as listed on the SUBJECTS page.  At present NBS Distance Learning Programme offers teaching on these twelve disciplines.

Teaching material recorded on audio CD will be sent to each student. The number of CD’s, with approximately an hour of teaching on each, will vary per subject, but the student can expect a minimum of three or more CD’s per subject. The total number of CD’s for the complete course will be approximately 60. This may increase as more material is added as we grow together. Where deemed necessary, additional study notes will be supplied.

It is expected of students to work through each lecture systematically before starting the next lecture. The student can study at his/her own pace and request the following lecture when ready. Each month each student will receive at least three CD’s depending on the subject, but not more than four. The DLP runs throughout the year and study fees are payable up front each month of the year.

At the end of each subject a test will be set to determine the students progress and understanding of the acquired knowledge. After completion of the course the student will receive a relevant certificate of completion.

Please note that since NBS is new in the arena of Bible Schools, it is not as yet accredited by any formal educational institution. The prospect of attaining academic accreditation is part of our future vision.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.(Jeremiah 29:11).

Why Study the bible?

Some Good Reasons

The Bible is an incredible book as it is literally God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). In other words, it contains God’s very thoughts and will concerning every individual on earth. That is why despite many attempts to destroy it, the Bible is still with us as it is God’s written word given to us through the Holy Spirit's inspiration of the various authors. Life is filled with questions concerning life, asked by various schools of thought and philosophers, and we find all the answers in the Bible.  People want to know about their origin and their destiny – where did they come from and where are they headed. They want to know about life after death and if there is a heaven and a hell. They struggle with the possibility of the simultaneous existence of a “loving” God and evil.  To this we can be add many more personal questions regarding each person's individual goals, visions and the struggles they encounter in achieving them. Besides Paul's advice, namely "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth ( 2 Timothy 2:15) five more reasons why we should study the Bible are listed below.

God’s Word is Infallible and Inerrant

This means God's word is never wrong and thus absolutely trustworthy. Similarly, the word inerrant, also applied to Scripture, means “free from error.” Simply put, the Bible never fails. Proverbs 30:5-6 declares:- "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar." Since His word is pure there is no need to add anything to it. Any addition to it will be a misrepresentation against which God clearly warns us.

God’s Word is Complete

We do not need to add any other books, chapters or verses. The books that complete the Bible are already given to us. Although there are libraries filled with countless books concerning or relative to the Bible all you need is the Bible as it alone is God’s Holy word. All other books and commentaries are human ideas, thoughts, opinions and beliefs concerning the Word of God. God has warned us concerning the Word- “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19).

God’s word is Authoritative.

The Word of God is the only source for absolute divine authority. Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword."  When God says something it is going to happen.  Nothing can stop it.  Not only is the word of God living and powerful, but it will last forever.  1 Peter 1:23 says, "the word of God lives and abides forever."  The word of God will follow us into eternity. The book of Psalms 119:89 says "Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven." This divine authority is for you and me as servants of Jesus Christ.

God's Word is Sufficient

God has made provision for all of our needs through His word.  We don't need anything else. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Paul states:- "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." We as children of God can learn be totally secure in the Lord by studying the Bible because it is God's revelation for our life.

Word of God Accomplishes his Promises.

In Isaiah 55:11 God spoke through the prophet and said,  "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." God sent His word to accomplish His perfect will in our lives. If God makes a promise to you He will fulfil it in His own time. There are so many promises given to us in the Bible. These promises reassure us and bring comfort to our lives in our times of trial. To understand and make these promises ours we need to study the Word of God. God will reveal to you great and mighty things you never knew
